Members of the Overdrive Interactive team participated in the 4th annual New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) Golf Tournament Monday at Poquoy Brook Golf Club in Lakeville under perfect, 80-degree weather conditions.
The Overdrive team, led by CFO Dan Alexander along with search marketers Dan Geller and Mike Nelson, finished one stroke under par, with the winning team from UniGraphic finishing the day four strokes under par. The tournament followed a scramble format, allowing teams of four to play off their team’s best shot throughout the course.
“This was the largest turnout since the event’s inception,” said NEDMA VP of Special Events Mike Billings, who coordinated the event. Billings complimented the Poquoy Brook course, noting that all the participants whose clubs made it through all 18 holes intact had a great time.
“One of the best things about the growth of this event is the increasing participation of women,” said Pat Lee, one of the Managing Directors for NEDMA. Lee said that the inaugural tournament had no female participants, whereas this year eight women were expected to compete.
The event gave away prizes for the closest tee shot to the pin on four different holes, along with the longest drive on Hole 10, all of which left the Overdrive team empty-handed, though Dan Geller won a football in the raffle.
The New England Direct Marketing Association is a collection of local companies that have a shared interest in direct marketing, holding events throughout the year centered around educating and networking for marketing professionals.
