Last weekend, some of us ran our first race of the year with the Overdrive Race Team. We participated in the Annual Harpoon 5 Miler and ran as a 6-pack. We also debuted our company running shirts!
We didn’t have our Marathon Runners with us, but we did have a very willing and enthusiastic team:
It was a nice, warm day for a run and we got to the Harpoon Brewery in South Boston bright and early. We warmed up by taking some some pre-race photos:
And then we were off!
The Harpoon 5-Miler is a relatively flat race and we all had a great time. This year, there were more than 35,000 runners who have teamed up to benefit The Angel Fund and ALS Research.
In addition to raising funds for a great cause, runners are also treated to commemorative race shirts, a post race party at the Harpoon Brewery, post race meals (pasta, salads, and Italian sausages), and of course:
What else would you expect from a race sponsored by a brewery? 🙂
The Harpoon 5-Miler was a great race to kick off running season. We’re looking forward to more Overdrive running!
