Google Now Adds Photo Sharing Feature

In an attempt to become more of a social network, Google has added a new feature to Place pages. Users now have the ability to upload their own photos to a business’ Place page, simply by clicking the obvious “upload a picture” option.

Now when users visit locations in Google, they have a more interactive experience with photos of the business, food they offer, their interior design, and more. As long as the photos follow regulations for appropriate images that can be uploaded, users can contribute their own.

These photos that are successfully uploaded will appear in the Place pages of these locations. Additionally, they will appear as part of search results in Google, Google Maps, and Google Earth.

Implementing this feature within Google has been a another move towards the social space for the big search engine. While other platforms have arguably posed a threat to Google in the past, they seem to be responding with their own version of social features and showing everyone they mean business.
