On Wednesday, June 28th, Overdrive Interactive hosted our first BrightEdge User Group. As avid users of the BrightEdge platform – Overdrive has been a certified agency since 2013 – our SEO team was thrilled to participate in this great initiative by BrightEdge. The user group provides a friendly setting where local SEO and content marketing professionals can meet and share industry insights and platform best practices. The event included a delicious continental dinner, wine tasting, and a presentation by Erik Newton, VP Customer Marketing and Head of SEO at BrightEdge, and Jeff Selig, VP Search, Social, and Analytics at Overdrive Interactive. A common theme in our discussions was that search needs a seat at the table. Search is consistently the top driver of website traffic, but it needs more recognition and a bigger budget. The guests shared the strategies they’ve used to work with other departments in their businesses to highlight search and create stronger SEO strategies.
