If you are an iPhone user then you have probably been using Instagram for a while. If you are an Android user, like myself, and enjoy photography then you adopted the photo sharing platform a month or so ago with excitement to explore this forbidden new world. As expected, Instagram has become more popular than ever and users are finding reason to document and share almost every moment of their lives. This has even proven true with baseball season.
In a recent article from Mashable.com, they report that:
“A month into the 2012 season, there has already been a 400% increase in Instagram photos posted from big league parks compared to the entire 2011 season. In total, more than 40,000 photos of ballparks have been posted to Instagram.”
No matter who you root for, it’s pretty clear that people are excited to share the nostalgia of America’s favorite past time with a nostalgic photo filter. Below is a fun infographic ranking America’s ballparks by volume of photos posted. Boston Red Sox and Fenway come in at number five in the nation (come on Red Sox fans!). It also shows popular team rivalries and who is dominating so far this season with photos.
Enjoy photo sharing and rooting for your team this year!
